A rare antique pair of Georgian hand cut Paste drop earrings dating to around the 1780's. A fascinating scintillation, the hand faceted Paste 'gems' are chunkily cut in the olden way with a darker culet to the back and then set over silvered foil for maximum glitteration when worn at the prestigious balls of the day. A very special find and one which we were very excited about as we've never seen a pair of this design, but we believe they are of English origin.
The fittings have been updated at some time in their life in order to fit pierced ears and they measure a dramatic 5cm from the stud fitting, all hand fashioned of Silver which is backed and 'washed' with Gold.
