As worn in the tombs of Etruria; an especially lovely pair of antique (historically inspired) Etruscan Revival 15ct Gold and pinky Almandine Garnet drop earrings. With exquisite hand wrought wirework detailing to the cleverly crafted hollow Gold drops, they closely resemble the kind of jewels seen in museums across Europe after the discovery of the ancient remains in Etruria. Circa 1860's/70's, these would have been an enormously fashionable look at the time and still carry that 'historic' cachet today...
The result of layers of skilled work, these very fine and interesting earrings show a variety of techniques, all beautifully patinated with the touch of time; very special and a wonderful addition to any collection.
They measure a touch over 3cm from the top of the wire and have a charming movement when worn. 15ct Gold was a standard used solely in Britain between 1854-1932.
